SONY DCRVX2000 costs £2200

Is it worth paying ?2000 for this camera, when its value could be reduced by 50% in a year?

Has anyone purchased this camera for less? Can someone recommend the place to get one in the UK?

I'm feeling smug about getting a Cannon XM1. Not used it that much yet- but I've only had it 3 days. I haggled a lot and managed to get it down over 300 pounds less than the RRP. Being in Ghana for 4 months helped- as I got a dab hand at haggling over there. My advice is to get what camcorder magazine as they have it in there pretty cheap and take it to a local dealer as they are better than mail order- and they will do a competitive price and a good deal. Second hand is okay unless the camera goes wrong and then you're in shit. Cameras go out of date so quick these days- but as long as it does what you want it to do, and you need it now- you should be okay. my friend has the VX 1000 and it was okay except it seemed to stretch the image a bit funny,
